Surprsie...

On August 23rd Kamden celebrated his 4th month of life and what a blessing he has been to our family. It's hard to believe that he is already 4 months old. Wasn't I just pregnant with him?? When people say that time flies...believe them.

At Kamden's 4 month appointment he weighted 17 lbs 5 ozs and he was 26 inches long. That means he has gained 10 lbs and 1 oz and has grown 7 inches in 4 short months. He is in the 90th percentile for his height and weight. He is by far the biggest baby out of our three.

Not only did Kam turn 4 months old on the 23rd but he also gave us a big surprise. As we were getting Kam ready for his bath Jack thought he saw something in his mouth so he decided to investigate. To both of our surprise Kamden had his first two baby teeth pushing through his bottom gum. Look out mommy!!! :)

Kyla gets her cast off....

On Tuesday August 18 we drove back up to Nemours children's hospital in Jacksonville to have Kyla's cast removed. Hard to believe that 4 weeks has come and gone. During the whole 4 weeks Kyla never complained...not even once. She was such a trooper!!
Here are a few pictures from that day:

The removal process seemed much scarier than what it really was. They take a "saw blade" and cut through the cast, then they break it open with this plyer looking tool and then they cut through the gauze. The saw blade was not sharp at all even though it looked that way and the tech even let us feel it to make sure. They gave Kyla some ear muffs so that it wouldn't be as loud or scary for her but she did great. I was so proud of her. She was a brave little girl!!
Sawing the cast in half. (not as painful as it looks)
Breaking it open.
Cutting through the gauze.
Kyla's arm fresh out of the cast.
She didn't know what to do with her arm and this is how she held it for the first few hours after her cast was removed.
She went for x-rays and they confirmed that her arm was completely healed and she was good to go. :)

Just a couple more pictures:

I caught Kyla looking at her reflection in the "room with the view" (it overlooked the river).

A few new pictures of Kam....

Just a few pictures of Kamden Max over the past few weeks. I love taking pictures of my little man (and the girls too). He is just getting so big so fast. I think the more kids you have the quicker they grow up. We are so blessed to have such beautiful and healthy babies.

Here is Kam snoozing in the swing sucking on his fingers....so sweet!!

Look how big Kam is. He weighed 16lbs @ 3 mons.

He is always gumming on his fingers.

Baby toes are my favorite. Aww....

Kamden right out of the bath. I love a clean baby!!

Lifting his head up for a picture...he is definitely my kinda kid. :)

This is my favorite picture of Kamden so far. I love it!!

Keaghan's 1st haircut...

We recently had Keaghan's hair trimmed first time on July 26th when she was 31 months old. Before this point there was never really a reason to cut it but her hair had finally reached the crazy unmanageable point so we broke down and had it trimmed. She wasn't so thrilled with the idea at first but she actually liked having it done.

This is what it looked like before she had it cut:

The hair cut:
Aww...look at that cute face. :)
All done.

Kyla's new cast...

So we went to Nemour's children's hospital on Tuesday July 21 and Kyla got her first (and hopefully last) cast. Everything went really well and we are thankful that she only had to be at the hospital for a fractured arm and nothing more serious. Of coarse she got to pick her own colors and she went with ladybug colors even though I tried to convince her to go with Orange and Blue...the Gator colors. Jack was not so thrilled with my idea as he is a Florida State fan. :)

Here are some of the pictures of Kyla and her cast:

First the black. Now the red. All done.

A break in the family...

Over this past weekend Kyla was running around in the living room playing with Keaghan when she fell and started crying. Jack ran in the room to see what was going on and she said her arm was hurting. I was nursing Kamden in the bedroom and Jack was getting ready for work so we we're not in there to see what happened but we still tried to evaluate her arm and make sure it was not broken. Her arm wasn't red and it wasn't swollen so we thought maybe she just bruised it. We continued to keep and eye on it over the weekend and it didn't get worse but it didn't get better either. She was able to move it around but she said it hurt when she moved it so we decided to take her to the Dr. this morning (Monday).

Her Dr. though she had Nursemaid's elbow: An injury to the ligaments in the elbow. So he maneuvered her elbow around and said that should fix the problem but he still wanted to send her for an x-ray just to be sure. So we took her to the radiologist office and discovered that she had a greenstick fracture: A partial bone fracture, usually occurring in children, in which the bone is bent but only broken on one side.

We then took her back to her Pediatrician's office and they put her arm in an ace bandage and then a sling. They referred her to a Children's hospital about an hour and a half away and we have an appointment tomorrow morning. I was able to get a few pictures of her with her sling. Kyla said she is excited about tomorrow because she will get to pick her own color for the cast. Here I am upset over the whole thing and she is excited about picking colors. Go figure!! I guess that's what happens when you're the mom...you worry.

A son is born....

Here are just a few of the 3D/4D ultrasound picture that we had done when I was pregnant:

**********************************************************
We arrived at the hospital at 5:00am and the nurses started all my pre-op blood work and the routine monitoring. I was scheduled to have our little man at 7:15 am but one of the other women who was scheduled to have a c-section went into labor first so they had to take her back before me. I was glad to hear that because I was not quite ready to go through another c-section...just yet.
(This is me right before I went to the OR)

Then at 8:00am they walked me back to the OR and started my spinal within a few minutes of me getting on the table. I was actually quite calm which shocked me a little or maybe it was just the lack of sleep from the night before. (Since I only got an hour of sleep) Thirty minutes after I arrived in the OR we heard yet again the most beautiful sound in the world...it was the sound of our newborn baby crying.
